Changes to Building Code clause H1 bring the biggest energy efficiency improvements in over a decade, and at Comfortech®, we’re well prepared to help you with these changes. Research shows that damp, mouldy, poorly ventilated homes affect the respiratory health of many New Zealanders.
Edge Compression R-value Calculator Comfortech® have worked with Design Navigator to develop an Edge Compression R-Value Calculator. This calculator allows us to extrapolate the product R-value across the last 500mm of the ceiling or roof perimeter, under compression to ensure you will meet the required R3.
MBIE has introduced the new 5th edition of H1/AS1 and H1/VM1 for housing and H1/AS2 or H1/VM2 for buildings greater than 300 m². This aims to reduce the energy needed for heating and cooling of 23% on average across large new buildings over previous minimum status quo requirements.
Residential Solutions At Comfortech®, our ambition is to create a more sustainable and comfortable future for all. With the introduction of the new H1 insulation changes, we’re working to enable all Kiwis to live and work in warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient buildings.
Single Layer Ceiling Solution The problem Traditional single layer 432mm wide segment installations will not meet the new H1 changes. Segments fitted between truss chords create a ‘thermal chimney’, allowing heat loss into the ceiling space. Claims over-width insulation segments ‘ballooning’ over truss chords are theoretically effective.
Our two-layer solution includes a dense first layer, ensuring the expected thermal performance is still delivered when compressed. Learn more below.
Specifically designed for H1, our Pink® Superbatts® Skillion Roof R7. 4 allows a single layer solution to the meet the Schedule method R6. 6 requirement. Learn more below.
Our Pink® Batts® ULTRA® insulation products ensure that even with 34% thermal bridging through the framing, you can meet the required H1 5th Edition Construction R-values. Learn more below. The H1 Building Code changes only require walls to hold a construction R-value of 2. 0, nationwide.
Delivery of a consistently high level of service The PinkFit® Pledge is a list of 6 things that PinkFit® promise to do to deliver a no fuss, no stress installation experience. We’ll be available. Always. We’ll work to your schedule. Always. We’ll stand behind our work. Always.
When you specify Pink® Batts® glass wool insulation, you are eligible to claim points under category for your Homestar house design.
There are a selection of insulation products that can be used with skillion roofs to achieve great thermal performance, all the while maintaining a suitable air gap between the roof underlay and insulation.
Pink® Batts® glass wool insulation passes combustibility tests, making it suitable for use as part of a passive fire system. An insulation product, if chosen correctly, can complement both passive fire and active fire protection to safeguard lives in the event of fire.
