Why Pink® Batts®?

Installing Pink® Batts® insulation is one of the smartest investments you can make in your home.

Pink® Batts® insulation keeps the heat in when it’s cold and the heat out when it’s hot. Without insulation, heat continually escapes from your home – mostly through the roof but also through the doors, floors and windows. This means heating your un-insulated home is largely a waste of heat and money.

By protecting your home against unwelcome cold and heat, Pink® Batts® insulation will measurably increase the quality of life inside your home. A smart move indeed.

Healthy living

Pink® Batts® insulation helps to protect your family’s well-being. By keeping your home warm and dry, it prevents mould and dampness – the triggers of respiratory illness.

Assurance

You can be guaranteed that your Pink® Batts® insulation will last for years – at least 50 years, if installed in a dry protected space.

Comfort

With Pink® Batts® insulation, you can enjoy the luxury of a warm, draught-free home, protected from winter’s chill and summer’s heat.

Pink® Batts® insulation wraps your home in a protective blanket, preventing precious heat from escaping during winter and sweltering temperatures from baking your home in summer.

The Pink® Batts® range offers different levels of thermal protection, depending on your need.

Banish draughts and damp

Floor insulation has a big impact on your home’s comfort level. Most houses are standing on cold soil or rock, so heat leaks out into the earth. As heat trickles out, moisture seeps in from the soil under your house. In fact, around 25 litres of moisture a day can enter your home from the damp ground beneath the floor.

Pink® Batts® SnugFloor® is under floor insulation that fits snugly under wooden floors, preventing heat escaping through gaps. It also keeps the damp out, so your home is both warmer and drier.

Saves money

A vanishing trick

When you heat an un-insulated home, most of a home’s heat vanishes through the ceiling.

The more heat escapes from your home, the more you turn up the heating and the more you pay for power. Trapping warmth with insulation will stop your heat, and heating bills, going through the roof.

Pays for itself over time

Installing Pink® Batts® insulation not only saves you money on power bills, it also pays for itself over time.

In fact, installing ceiling insulation into an otherwise un-insulated Wellington house (150m²) would pay itself back in four years.  And after 20 years, this homeowner would benefit from a net saving of over $3,000, according to BRANZ research.

Greatest protection

If you want the best in insulation ask your designer and builder for products from the Pink® Batts® Ultra® range. This range of premium insulation will help you to enjoy greater long-term cost savings and additional comfort.

Sustainability

Our commitment

We want to ensure that Pink® Batts® insulation has the lightest possible environmental footprint, thereby helping to preserve our environment for present and future generations.

How it’s made

Pink® Batts® insulation is predominately made from up to 80% recycled glass and sand. By reusing the glass to make insulation, we reduce the amount of landfill each year by the equivalent of 60 rugby fields in size.

The recycled glass is locally sourced from suppliers near the manufacturing plants to minimise transport costs. Energy used during the manufacture of
Pink® Batts® products is offset by the energy saved by a fully insulated home within a three to 15 month timeframe.

Environmental Choice New Zealand

Product safety

Pink® Batts® insulation is made from glass wool, a common form of insulation that is used around the world to insulate homes and buildings.

Healthy living

Living in a cold, damp home is, without doubt, bad for your health.*

Research shows that people living in houses which are colder than 16°C are more likely to suffer respiratory illnesses than those living in warmer homes. The World Health Organisation recommends that indoor temperatures should be at least 18°C for healthy living.

Cold homes trigger ill-health

Having a warm and healthy home is not just a case of turning up the heater. Poorly insulated and ventilated houses, together with cold temperatures, encourage mould, mildew and condensation – the key triggers of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory illness. Dampness also encourages the spread of dust mites, the major cause of allergy in New Zealand.

By protecting your home from the cold and damp, Pink® Batts® insulation prevents the growth of mould, mildew and dust mites.
