a new home

Building a new home is exciting. You've got a clean slate to work with, and a picture of your ideal home in your mind. Now it's time to start planning! It's important to get things right from the start because ensuring you have a comfortable home begins at the building stage.

Remember, you get to call the shots! At the end of the day you'll be the one living in your home so don't leave the selection of materials to someone else. Let the builder know what you want and don't let anyone talk you into accepting anything less.

Develop an insulation plan with your architect, designer or builder.
Specify higher R-values for greater energy efficiency.*
Create quiet areas with noise control products.
Consider a breathable building home-wrap for a healthier, drier home.
Notify your builder of your insulation wishes.
Keep the insulation plan and product receipts to show new owners if you sell.

*The percentage of energy savings will depend on house construction and design.

Warm home solutions
Using ‘Better' or ‘Best' insulation gives you greater control over the internal temperature of your home, creating comfortable living all year round in most cases. In most cases, the more insulation you install, the lower your heating bill. And remember, a well insulated home is a drier, healthier home!
