Installing insulation
![]() |
The best insulated home is the one that is fully insulated from top to bottom. Even if this is not achievable, insulating part of your home will contribute to a warmer, healthier home, while providing long term cost savings.
There are 3 main options to get insulation installed in your home – either a full professional installation, doing it yourself or a mix of both.
Having your insulation professionally installed ensures that it is fitted properly. If insulation is fitted incorrectly it won’t be nearly as thermally effective. You can rely on the experts for a quick and clean professional job. They can also assess any existing insulation to help ensure your home gets the best level of insulation.
If your home was built before 2000, you can benefit from the current government grant saving up to $1,300 on the cost of insulation when it is installed by an EECA installer.
If you are a seasoned DIYer, you can install Pink® Batts® insulation yourself with the right knowledge and tools. Installing your own insulation may take you longer than the professionals but there is nothing like the personal satisfaction of doing a job yourself.
If your DIY confidence extends only to the easier installation projects, you can adopt a mix and match approach: do the ceiling installation yourself and call on the experts for the rest of the job. That way you may also benefit from the Government grant for the professional part of the installation.
